Play for Thought is a program made in collaboration with the Davis Community Libraries. This program consists of a series of events wthich aim to instill the idea of a healthy-lifestyle in elementary aged children through hands-on activities. There are two roles you may sign up for. Presenters will earn 1 R&E credit (6 hours of transcript notation) and are expected to present a PowerPoint on the general topic and activity. Regular volunteers will earn 0.5 R&E credits and are expected to assist in organizing the attendees and contribute to educating them on the topic of the day.
Screen Time: Now that school is out, most children find themselves with too much time on their hands. While playing Minecraft on the computer feels like a great use of that time, we're here to remind them that too much screen time can be dangerous to their health. We'll be promoting playing outside or indoors with other toys and board games. The activity wil involve making an easy board game! (A few different ones depending on what age group shows up).
